Mr Charles and Mrs Eileen Boote moved into 46 Chaffinch Avenue, Shirley in 1945. This collection consists of detailed household accounts from that time until 1998. Every Thursday evening, the couple would balance the weeks expenses. All receipts were kept and recorded as was all expenditure, down to the last penny. Every item was entered into the weekly registers and then the totals from the weekly registers were added to the separate listing in the overall total registers, and a running total balance was recorded. Mr Charles Boote died on 17 July 2000.
