This collection reflects the activities of Jack Jones in his long association with the National Union of Teachers (NUT) in the form of sixteen minute books mostly General Committee and Committee but includes Finance and General Purposes Sub-Committee, Organisation Committee and Young Teachers Committee. In August 1950 Mr Jones visited Poland to study educational conditions there and the collection includes material from the visit in the form of seven photographs, two card photographs and seventeen postcards. In addition there are eleven booklets in English spanning the period 1944 - 1950 concerning the rebuilding of post-war Poland and one of Auschwitz and Birkenau in four languages. There are three editions of the magazine New Poland from 1950, some papers on women and higher education in Poland, and a typed article entitled Education in Poland by J T Jones B.Sc. Within the collection there are also items concerning War Pay Allowances, two printed agendas of the Warlingham Park Hospital War Pensions Committee dated 22 January and 19 February 1940 and various miscellaneous correspondence, papers and newpaper cuttings from the same year.

Album of 72 photographs of members and staff of Croydon Corporation, presented to Alderman Frederick Foss for his services as legal adviser in the interregnum in the position of Town Clerk, 1895-6.

The album includes an illuminated introductory page (incorporating the Borough arms, and a photograph of the Town Hall), which reads: 'Presented to Mr Alderman Foss, J.P. by the Members of the Council of the County Borough of Croydon, in testimony of their appreciation of his Valuable Services as their Legal Adviser during the period which elapsed between the illness and death of the late Town Clerk Mr C.M. Elborough, and the commencement of the duties by his Successor, Mr E. Mawdesley, from October 28th 1895, to March 1st 1896. This is followed by 72 named photographs of members and staff of the Council, and other civic dignitaries. These are as follows:
