Custodial:
This volume was originally offered for sale on Ebay in May 2005 by a dealer in Harrow. It was purchased by a buyer in Croydon. Mr Chris Bennett, Archivist, made efforts to trace the buyer of the volume which resulted in him receiving an invitation, which he accepted, to view the volume at an address in Croydon in September 2005. The individual then in possession of the document susequently moved address. Nothing further was heard until it was received, anonymously, by Croydon Archives Service on Saturday 31 May 2008.
Nothing is known about how it came to be offered for sale on Ebay or the whereabouts of nos. 1-5 or 7+ in the sequence.
Administrative:
The firm of solicitors to whom this volume originally belonged is possibly Streeter Marshall, as indicated by the connection with the Whitgift Foundation, although this is unconfirmed. Date span has been derived from the dates of delivery.
