Rogers Family Papers: Birth, Death and Marriage Certifications

Consists of one birth certificate for Mildred Elizabeth Rogers born 29 July 1894, one death certificate for Edward William Rogers died 20 April 1958 and two marriage certificates, Edward Rogers to Elizabeth West dated 2 February 1859 and Edward William Rogers to Alice Maria Skinner dated 6 September 1893

Rogers Family Papers: Diary of Alice Rogers (Nee Skinner)

The diary begins at one end of the volume for the period 1880-1887; and then starts again at the other end for the period 1887-1905. This second part is initially much fuller, but becomes sporadic towards the end. The entries include 9 May 1883 Incorporation of Croydon, 6 September 1893 marriage in Eastbourne, 29 July 1894 baby (Mildred) born, 18 January 1895 babys photo taken (see AR57/5/3) , 25 March 1897 moved from 14 Cameron Road, Croydon, to 7 Dunheved Road, Thornton Heath, 22 June 1897 Queens Diamond Jubilee, 26 April 1899 commenced treatment for consumption and 30 June 1902 beacon fires after Boer War ) The diary also contains a list of gifts, probably wedding presents, and donors.

Consists of diary of Alice Rogers 1880-1905 and related material including 3 cast lists from theatre programmes 1891-1901, a poem entitled Lines written on joining HMS Orion by W H Ford 27 April 1855, a letter MMS to the three little loving birds 15 May 1902, pressed flowers c.1893-c1902, a letter from Alice Rogers to Edward William Rogers 9 September 1907 and 2 sets of extracts from diaries c.1960s-1970s.

Contains newspaper cuttings relating to the Rogers business and the Rogers and Skinner families; productions of the Croydon Stagers and other amateur theatrical groups (Millie Rogers was a member of the Croydon Stagers) and various other matters. The album is inscribed With love to Dear Dady. From Mother and Millie.Xmas 1904.
