E H Tarrant: Diaries

Consists of four diaries. The diaries cover a comparatively recent period but are mostly personal and do not appear to offer any insight into major events of the time.Within each there are some blank entries but otherwise recording mostly everyday events on a personal level including outings, illness and weather. It appears she went to church and had a liking for cats. Occasional mention of a creche and Age Concern are made but her involvement is not clear. There are also some entries of household accounts and names and addresses at the back.

E H Tarrant: Household Accounts

Consists of six handwritten note books of household accounts. There is no indication from the accounts how many people were in the household.However this series of household accounts does offer a basic insight into the ever changing prices of a variety of everyday goods from bread to shoes throughout the period 1976 to 1990. It can also be viewed as representative of not only the kind of things people bought but how often and testament that many people still shopped everyday.

Handwritten references from Clifton Hill School, Mary Datchelors Girls School, St Gabriels College and Friern Girls School. The first refers to a Miss Chadderton and it is uncertain whether this refers to Jessie or Dora, the next two refer to Dora and the last to a Mrs Wood [Jessies married name]

Venturas Club: Badges

Consists of several metal badges and invoice for same from Pickford Newton Ltd 11A 11B George Street, Croydon dated 10 December 1948 In addition there are 2 badge monograms, 1 pattern and an invoice from Revlin Press Ltd 194 Moss Lane East, Moss Side, Manchester for design and supply of transfers dated 31 January 1949.

Venturas Club: Certificates

Consists of 1 framed certificate awarding third prize to the Venturas Club for their entry in the Tableaux Class of Vehicles (Coronation Carnival Procession)

Venturas Club: Programmes

Consists of several programmes, some duplicates, a thank you letter from Thornton Heath Ratepayers and Residents Association to Monty Joy, and the words of a Carmen Miranda song sung by Monty Joy as Carmen Miranda in the Venturas show All Abroad 22 May 1948. In addition there are handwritten notes for a speech.
