Transferred by Gordon Sadler, final Chairman of the Wellesley Singers, in December 2007.
Administrative:
The Wellesley Singers were formed in 1974 by civil servants working for the Property Services Agency (PSA) in Wellesley Road who met during their lunch breaks and gave concerts, particularly at Christmas. Membership was expanded to include other office workers, friends etc. However membership declined following the privatisation of the PSA in 1993 and this, combined with a lack of time to rehearse caused by flexible working practices, meant that the Wellesley Singers was closed in 2001. An administrative history has been provided by the Depositor.
